Hillary L. Bownik, M.D.
Hillary L. Bownik, MD received a Bachelor of Arts in English and Pre-Professional Studies in 2002 from the University of Notre Dame in South Bend, Indiana. In 2007, she graduated with distinction from George Washington University in Washington D.C. with a Doctorate of Medicine. She completed her internship and residency at the University of California Los Angeles (UCLA) Medical Center in 2010 and completed her fellowship in gastroenterology at Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois, where she was made chief fellow, in 2015.
Dr. Bownik was an IBD Advanced Fellow and Instructor of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania Perelman School of Medicine until 2015 and has been practicing medicine for 9 years.
Dr. Bownik is a member of the American Gastroenterology Association (AGA), the American College of Gastroenterology (ACG), and is certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM). She has published several articles and abstracts on the effects of IBD and has made presentations at local and national conferences.
Dr. Bownik enjoys reading, tennis, softball, and clinical volunteer work in her community.
