What is a capsule endoscopy?

 

Patient care is further enhanced at MAGIC by an innovative procedure—the capsule endoscopy. This is a minimally invasive test that helps detect the site of unexplained gastrointestinal bleeding. One of our physicians, Mark Allen, was the first to perform a capsule endoscopy in the Kansas City area when the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) approved the procedure in 2001.
